Sorry chickee-doodles, I haven't been as active on the blog as of late. I keep coming here to write something, only to be distracted by something else. Then I forget and when I come back, I hate what I wrote before.

Oh well, so is life.


So some pictures from my past few days:

Food Truck Fest

Nothing too special. Was way too hot and crowded, and I ended up not getting anything. Instead, I walked up until I stumbled across an Amy's Bread and I got a rosemary twist. Yum, CARBS.

I did see this purty booth.

I love dramatic jewelry.

I then met with my friend Lesley to go get some 8 cent crepes at Motek. The line was SO LONG. So we cam whored.

We both got the same flavor (Pesto). It was good, but we ended up waiting 2 hours on that line and it really wasn't 2 hour wait worthy.

After failing at buying some cupcakes at Crumbs afterwards, we settled on sweets elsewhere. I got a hazelnut ball at Black Hound. I normally love Black Hound, but this was just a little dry and there were too many nuts around it. I did finish it though.

In the end, I just went home and had a banana soft serve with kiwi. This might've been the best thing I ate that day.

I also did Restaurant Week at Club A Steakhouse! I have no pictures to post here because everything turned out red and dark due to the lighting at the place. HOWEVER, that was the least of my worries. The food was delish and the service was SUPERB. My water was constantly being replenished (but not annoyingly so), and they even gave us a side dish on the house. My favorite dish was the cauliflower soup (I must have it again someday!), but trust me when I say I enjoyed all courses.

I doggy bagged half the salmon so you at least get to see what I did with it.

Mmmmmmm, salad.

Then the other day, I went to Murray's Bagels for well, bagels.

They only had a few bagel choices because it was 6 in the morning and the hadn't baked all of them yet. So I had a sesame bagel with some maple walnut spread.
I've been wanting to try this place because it's got an impressive list of awards received. I gotta say the bagel was really good. Maybe I should just get one with no spread next time because it sort of takes from the pure taste of bagel, but that might be hard to do since the spread was tasty too . . . Ah well.

Finally, my boring dinner from the other day.

Okay, so I believe I best be off to eat some dinner and then hit up the SEASON FINALE OF NEXT FOOD NETWORK STAR. I'm rooting for Aarti or Herb. Are you watching?

Restaurant Week trucks and colored macarons

I need more interesting titles. But then again, I learned my lesson when on my old blog I kept putting weird short titles that told me nothing about what I wrote, and it took me forever to look through everything and find what I needed.

Today was a weird day for me. Full of ups and downs. The up being that all my teachers seem pretty good so far (and nothing to worry about sociology now that what I imagined my professor to be like is the complete opposite of what he actually is like; in the positive way). Downs would be . . . losing solitaire and having nothing to do for a while. Oh, and not being productive.

But my lunch was awesome because I came across a certain truck that sold certain food . . .


I didn't even know (because I've been out of the loop). But my friends and I were looking for J.Crew and came across the red Restaurant Week Truck! And I couldn't pass it up (me being a foodie and all), so I got some Louisiana Seafood Gumbo from Ruth's Chris Steak House.
This is that, plus my water (in sunny), half a banana walnut muffin, and a banana in a banana case (cool, right?).


It came with bread!
The taste: I liked it a lot! It was a tad salty but I for one don't mind, because it worked with the seafood and it was also mixed with other spices that warmed up my stomach from the inside. There was a lot of shrimp in it too, plus pieces of fish (I believe) that had this great kick of flavor! Overall, for $6, this was a good choice.

The truck is going to be around Greenwich I believe for Thursday and Friday so don't miss it!


Lastly, I went to Macaron Cafe recently. I haven't been there in SO LONG but I had to get some macarons, so I bought two.


Earl Grey and Rose Lychee flavors. I love the rose so I had to get it. And I believe this was my first time with the Earl Grey. I love it! They both taste like what they're supposed to taste like. They're a little pricey at $1.95 since they're very small, but once in a while, it's okay.


Okay, so that was pretty much all food. I have more great things to share, but they will have to come another time (and it's fashion related)!

Curiouser and curiouser . . .

Was not my thought when I sat down at Alice's Tea Cup, Chapter 2, located on the corner of 64th and Lexington Avenue (going down). But that's probably because I was there before.

Yesterday I made my way over there to meet with a bunch of lolita friends (lolita being the Japanese street fashion and friends being the awesome people of whom like said fashion). One of them were leaving New York and we decided it only made sense to meet up and eat and mingle. So Alice's seemed to be the right choice because, who doesn't like tea??

If happiness could come in the form of a sandwich, it would probably be that BLT. I swear, one of the many things disabling me from turning vegetarian is bacon. AND THAT SANDWICH HAD A LOT OF IT. With maybe a slither of lettuce and a few tomatoes. The rest was blue cheese spread. And I crave salt like a pregnant woman well into her 6th month, so that sandwich pretty much made for the bliss of becoming a mother of a food baby.

The pumpkin scone I've had before and it's their best scone in my opinion, but I split it with my friend's mixed berry scone and enjoyed the latter as well. A nice little tip: they have a $10 minimum on weekends, so order a sandwich and have your friend order Alice's Tea that comes with 2 scones. That's what my friend and I did, and I gave her 1/2 a sandwich and she gave me a scone, and we split the tea. Best deal ever.

Lastly, since I have an unhealthy relationship with tea, I had to have tea. The birthday tea wasn't anything too special (I'm not THAT big on fruit teas), but it hit the right spot.

The day continued like this: Dylan's Candy Bar, Crumbs, Honey and Tea (a store in Grand Central: the man working there with the glasses is nice and cute and when a man knows his teas, well, you know the rest), Book Off, and Kinokuniya.

I got super excited about the Barbie display at Dylans only to find out chocolate shaped Barbie's pumps should not be that expensive. But alas, Barbie is too much fabulosity money can't handle her.

The day ended with tired striped legs, a gaping face at the man sitting 2 seats away with his brand new Gucchi bag and Coach sneakers (both of which I found unattractive), and good memories (the part that really matters, no?)
